Unconventional Portraits
In this first unconventional portrait series, I layered colors and linework to explore and understand how I see and experience people. Though not diagnosed with synesthesia, I’ve always seen colors and lines when interacting with people and animals. I enjoy the challenge of portraying those sensorial experiences on paper using watercolor, pastels, ink, and graphite. I want to see if I can translate my experience into larger, more complex pieces with multiple people interacting on the same canvas.
